The most recent addition to the tech stack in my car is the Scosche FoundIT Charge 32W Car Charger.
This looks like any other cigarette lighter/power port adapter but there is a bit of a twist. First, there are two different charging ports in it. One is a fast-charging 20-watt USB-C and the other is a USB-A 12-watt.That gives you two options to provide power to your iPhone as well as a second device for or your passenger.
The twist comes in the form of a built-in Find My-compatible Locator. Now you don’t have to worry about keeping an AirTag in your car, hiding it so a thief can’t easily find it, or even making sure that the battery in it is charged. Since it is built-in, it is always charging. It is as close as you can get to a set-it-and-forget-it location device for your car that just happens to be an excellent charger.
One final advantage: It is from Scosche, not some no-name knock-off, so you know it will deliver and keep on delivering.
At the moment you can get it for under $20, less than a dedicated AirTag.
I’ve been using the FoundIT since getting it from Scosche at CES and have had zero issues. In fact, it is one of the reasons that I haven’t written the review before: I forgot it until I recently opened the Find My app looking for something else and saw it. That might be the best recommendation I can give it: it just works.
