Pat Lee and Peter Kazanjy of VMWare discuss their Mac virtualization software, VMWare Fusion, and what makes it the best choice for Mac users who want to run not just Windows on their Mac, but also Linux, Ubuntu, Solaris, and more. In some cases, installation isn’t even necessary; VMWare offers over 550 virtual appliances that all install fully formed and ready to run. Pat and Peter discuss the performance of both Windows XP and Vista in VMWare Fusion, virus and security issues of the virtual machine, their views of the Mac market and more. VMWare’s presence at Macworld Expo is also previewed, including a discussion of the evaluation DVDs that will be given away and the demonstrations that attendees will see.
