A couple days before I left for CES I upgraded my AirPods to the AirPods Pro 3. I have had nothing but positive things to say about my AirPods Pro 2, so haven’t been in a big hurry to do the upgrade.
I should’t have waited.
Both my Bose Quiet Comfort headphones and the AirPods Pro 3 went in my pack for the flight to Las Vegas, and that is probably the last flight the Bose will take. The AirPods Pro 3 going and coming and were amazing. The seal was much better than the AirPods Pro 2, the sound was noticeably better, and the noise cancellation was at least as good, if not better than the Bose.
More surprising, at least to me, was the comfort factor. With the Bose, I usually needed to take a break between 2 and 3 hours in. My ears would get hot and one ear cup just never seemed to fit exactly right. In-ears have always been a bit of a challenge for me. A set of Etymotics was the closest I ever came to getting a good fit, and even those became uncomfortable after protracted use.??The AirPods Pro 2 had a decent fit and were comfortable, but never gave me a good seal. The AirPod Pro 3s, however, were perfect out of the box. I wore them the entire flight (almost 5 hours) out and the entire flight back (a little over 4 hours), and longer on both ends as I gathered up my luggage. No discomfort, just great sounds.
There are features of the AirPods Pro 3 that I haven’t tried out, but with great sound and comfortable fit, I can absolutely recommend that you at least give them a try, even if you’re happy with what you currently have.
