There are lots of weather apps out there and I feel like I’ve tried them all.
I’m not a meteorologist, so I really don’t need all the information that so many apps want to display. No flashy graphics necessary. Simple is better. Just give me the day’s and week’s temperatures and chances of rain and I’m happy. That’s why Looks Like Rain by THINKBITZ has found a place on the Home Screen of my iPhone.
As the image shows, it is easy to understand and offers some, but not too much, customization. 10-day and single day views give you everything you need to know in an informative, compact format. Real-time rain information is displayed if it is available in your area.
You can save one location other than the one where you currently are. For $2 monthly or $10/year you get Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets, the ability save more locations, and the subscription syncs between Mac, iPhone, and iPad.
What’s missing? An Apple Watch complication would be nice, but it is hardly a dealbreaker.
If you’re looking for a no-nonsense weather app, give Looks Like Rain a try. You won’t be disappointed.
