Jeff Tolbert, the author of the new Take Control of Making Music with GarageBand ’08, talks about one of the two aspects of the program (as contrasted with his other new book, Take Control of Recording with GarageBand ’08), how it has evolved over the life of the program, and who it is targeted for. Jeff discusses some of the newest features such as Magic GarageBand and Visual EQ, provides some tips on using the new arrange track, and talks about how to customize some of the sample tracks that come with the program. GarageBand ’08 is a fun program even if you aren’t a serious musician, and Jeff talks about why it shouldn’t be a great learning tool, but also shouldn’t be underestimated.
